Dr. Jeffrey A. Smith was a staunch advocate for students and their academic, cultural, and spiritual development. He became the Director of Admissions at Johnson C. Smith University in 1999 and later climbed to the role of Vice President of Student Affairs. Dr. Smith went on to serve in similar capacities at Bethune–Cookman, Shaw and Cheyney universities. Under his guidance, countless students achieved their dream of a college education. Much of their success can be attributed to Dr. Smith’s ability to see opportunities where others saw irresolvable problems. Dr. Smith knew the key to success is opportunity. Your contribution, big or small, will provide a valuable opportunity to make a difference in a young person’s life.
